Harris Park Transport was a defunct bus operator.

See Wikipedia for information about its history leading up to its cessation of operations

Harris Park Transport decided to cease operations on December 2004. As a result, their northern Sydney operations were passed to Hillsbus.[1] After Hillsbus parent company Westbus experienced financial problems, the former Harris Park operations passed to Sydney Buses on 28 January 2005.[2] Routes included were:

  • 620 Dural-City
  • 623 Beecroft-Parramatta via North Rocks (with diversions to Oatlands)
  • 624 Epping-Parramatta via Pennant Hills Road
  • 625 Pennant Hills-Parramatta via Pennant Hills Road (direct)
  • 626 Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook
  • 627 Cherrybrook-Parramatta via Pennant Hills Road & North Rocks
  • 628 Epping-Carlingford
  • 629 Epping-North Rocks
  • 630 Macquarie Centre-Blacktown via Epping (still jointly operated with Hillsbus)

After Westbus (including Hillsbus) was acquired by ComfortDelGro Cabcharge, negotiations were reached to transfer some of the former Harris Park routes back to Hillsbus. Only 623, 624, 628 and 629 remained with Sydney Buses.[3]

After cessationEdit

On 4 November 2007, reorganisation of the former Harris Park Transport routes by Sydney Buses has caused renumbering and alteration of the routes. The new routes formed were:[4][5]

  • 546 Epping-Parramatta via Carlingford, North Rocks & Oatlands (replace 623, 628 and 629)
  • 548 Epping-Parramatta via Carlingford and Pennant Hills Road (replace 624)
  • 549 Epping-Parramatta via North Rocks Road (replace 623 and 628)
  • 623 Beecroft-North Rocks (curtailed)

623 was later renumbered 553 (approximately around 2011).

After the introduction of Metrobus, 548 was upgraded to Metrobus M54 and extended to Macquarie Park.
